Most expensive round was one of 3 courses in Vegas (Stallion Mountain, Reflection Bay or The Royal Links). If I remember right it was around $265 per player. One of the cool things about The Royal Links was that our group got a caddie for the round. Vinnie was our caddie and he walked with us helping us out wearing a white Masters style jumper with Calcavecchia across the back. It was AWESOME.

Why is golf so expensive in your country? In Ireland you can tee it up for less than €20 and it's not that expensive on top courses either. For example, just checked the price of a round at Kileen Castle (Solheim Cup venue) and you can play for €35 at the moment. So why is it so expensive elsewhere?

Seems like Europe is a more expensive place to play golf ... in Austria and Italy you can expect to pay at least about 105 USD for an average course on the weekends ... fortunately we have some companies who sell packages with greenfee vouchers, where on some courses (unfortunately mostly during the week) one pays, but two can play

My most expensive round: The very first round on a 9-hole par 3 practice course at my friends golfclub... Though I didn't have to pay a greenfee as a members guest it was still expensive, as it was my first encounter with golf, and I got completely hooked at the first strike at the ball, so there was nothing for it except to enroll and invest in clubs and coaching! As it was the visit was part of a bargain: I only agreed to visit the golfclub, if my friend went for a flyfishing trip with me - sort of "I'll try your passion, if you'll try mine"-deal. Eventually he did, and he even caught a seatrout while I didn't see the shadow of a fish, but alas... it didn't take on him the same way golf did on me (I still flyfish though!)
@Dan - I've only resently came across your site, but what a great project, and though living in Denmark (Europe), your progress is very inspirational! Keep it up!
