This post resonates with me. Imagine if Tiger Woods’ dad had died when he was two? He’d be called Eldrick now and selling insurance somewhere. Just goes to show how critical mentorship is towards getting to these insane levels of life in a thing like golf. All those guys have a similar story to you except that guy at the lake didn’t die and he was probably a close relative, like their father. You’re right to let that go though. Life is too short and there’s more to life than being good at golf.

Those two things seem to go hand in hand, the trick, I think, is staving frustration to the point where you can still learn. Too much frustration can lead to a closed mind at times.

Hey, just curious why you only have two handicap index entries for all of 2014? We’re into month five now…

Glad to see the scores coming down lately, and that you plan to play tournaments. I understand the cost might be prohibitive, but getting into lots of tournaments and competing well could really boost the interest in what you’re doing here!
