GDay Dan from Australia's Central Coast,

A few years ago I read Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers, and a mate directed me from your blog which Ive read since day dot. I'm same age as you but with wife, kids, mortgage, demanding job and to date have discovered no hidden talents. What your blog has helped me realise is with passion, a good attitude, and time spent on deliberate/dedicated practice you will see results. Your blog spurs me on to use the time I have and direct it at my pursuits, I've seen results and I'm raising the bar.
It was great to see you on insight, sure those shows are heavily edited but anyone who's checked out your blog would "get it." You've become a mentor and source of inspiration to me and I often chat with my mates over a beer about your progress. You have a cult following now mate cheering you on. Would love to have a beer with you one day and compare notes, though my 10g will take a lot longer to chalk up!!

Its not what you think its what u do that defines you! Well done Dan you are already a legend!!

Dan --

The thing I disliked most about the program was that it basically implied that you had achieved "expert" status and the only question was whether this had been achieved through dedicated practice or whether your talent was natural.

As has been seen on your website videos, you're a particularly unathletic looking specimen.
You were reveling in the attention and invariably rambled on beyond what was wanted from you.
As I suspected, the average non golf savvy viewers would think you have achieved a level of skill close to a PGA Tour player in a couple of years but we both know you're not even close.

Hi Bill,

Brookwater was a treat. It was definitely a bush course and after playing each hole you can look back at the tee box and see where to hit and where to not miss. It's the type of course you want to play a few times to get a feel for it. I would have loved to play the sand belt tracks. Next time!

Thank you for catching the program Geoff. It was quite the impressive crowd and well put together. I just wish that the entire 2-hour talk session that we did was online instead of just the edited tv version. There were some great points made about passion from Alisa and others.

Oz golfers do like to enter their "comp" rounds to keep them focussed. I think it's pretty much the same as a mens club day here in the states so not too different.

Cheers

Chris,

Yeah, that was unfortunate, but the rest was wonderful. I'd go again even if I knew I had to get sick.
