Nice playing for that 76. Knowing you are capable of shooting in the mid to low 70's is one thing but actually validating that with a tournament round should feel great. Keep playing "for score" during your daily play and you will learn how to turn that 83 into a 75 and that 76 into something really special.

Perhaps experiment with carrying a 4-wood. The 4-wood naturally produces fairly straight shots with good distance. With more clubface loft than the 3-wood and the driver, the 4-wood generates more backspin to overcome the effects of side-spin to naturally keep its shots straight. The 3-wood curves less than the driver, but the 3-wood flies higher with more time to curve offline, so that the 3-wood can curve way offline to the side, and deep into the trees. The 4-wood has longer shaft length than the irons, so that it can be swung slower than the irons, while generating more distance with easier swings. With more loft and a shorter shaft than the 3-wood, the 4-wood can be hit down more on fairway and rough shots with a more upright swing, and with a closer to the ball stance. The club lends itself to the slashing-away style of swing, and pressing to get extra distance off of the fairway, as it is fairly forgiving. It can serve well as a go-to club for long shots.
