I’ve been following your blog for a few months now and I’ve been playing golf for 4 1/2 years now. I’m using you as a measuring stick for myself because we both started playign golf late in life. I started playing when I was 36 or so. I shot my first 75 about a month ago too on a 72.5/126 course at a 6,700 yards. I didn’t keep the ball but I sure wish I had. It’s a great achievement. Congratulations!! Honestly, I don’t think very many golfers have every shot 75 or lower. I would guess it’s less than 10% of players from my own un-scientific observations over the years. And I would guess it’s WAY lower for people who started playing golf late in life. I would almost bet money it’s less than a few percent of those players. Keep up the good work!

As an alternative to hopping around from par-5 to par-5, you might want to hit short irons off the tee on all par 4′s, leaving longer approaches from unusual places.

A new milestone to add is perhaps on getting under-par on par-five’s. If the course is empty, perhaps keep playing the par-five(s) hole(s) over and over until getting under par on these.
