Geoff, That's awesome that you qualified for the Governor's Cup, should be a good experience. Is that the biggest tournament you have ever played in?

I'm sure there is a good bit of course management and strategy that goes into playing a new course for the first time, but I haven't gotten to that level quite yet. Let me know how it goes and hit 'em straight!

Hi Dan,

thanks for replying.

Unfortunately I couldn't find the link again. If I happen to find it, I'll send it to you for sure.

According to your FB update, seems like you had pretty impressive first full rounds. However, I'm sure you'll keep improving your scores in a rapid pace.

Take care!

Always good to watch the pros hit the ball and see the ease that golf can be played. Following playing in the winning teanm at a club tournament on the 6th of august I am now qualified to play in the Governor's Cup next Friday at the Glenelg course in Adelaide SA. Did not know this was a bonus for the win and it is a bit of a thrill to get a start on a course never played before and to have earnt it through playing good golf. Certainly not a profesional standard myself but love the game and the competition on the course. Hit 'em straight Dan

Where have you been? We need to get back out to Edgefield one day soon... Or, hit up Heron. Let me know when you are free.

Tony, they were knocking it far, but the fairways had tons of roll out and were stiff as a board and it was about 92 degrees so the ball shoots pretty far. As long as you hit it straight you can score!

Thanks for the comment,

Dan

Great story and photos. I was very intimidated by the driving distance these guys put up. I probably average 250, which I think is really sold ... but these guys were knocking it 370 or using a 3Wood to send it 300 and safely hit a fairway. Yowza.
