Hi Jason,

Thanks for the kind words! I'll definitely put more of those types of blogs up, seems people are interested in the shot by shot analysis. I didn't know if anyone would want to read it, but now that I do I'll be sure to do it more.

The putter... It's a mix of a few things. The main issue is that I can't seem to get the ball to start on line with that mallet putter like I can with an Anser style. I don't like to blame the gear, but the putter I was using that day needs to be removed from the bag. I just wanted to give a different style putter a shot so stuck with it for about a month. Now, I think it's time to go back to old faithful. So, I think it was a mix of technical and implementation that was off. My stroke was the same, but the resulting roll wasn't what I thought it would be.

Thanks!

William,

wow, I haven't been that close yet (3 over with 3 to go) but am sure I'll know how you felt teeing it up on the 16th when that day comes. The lesson of patience is a recurring theme in golf..

I appreciate the comment as always,

Hi Nick,

good catch! Yeah, I've been playing a bit with and without a glove to see what feels best. I was actually wearing a glove when the club slipped, but it had a huge tear in the palm so maybe not the best grip possible.. Will make sure that I wear a better glove from now on!

Thanks for the comment!

Hi Tommy,

Very true. The driver is either hot or cold right now and when cold it's quite easy to miss every fairway. But, when it's hot golf is such a different game and is all of a sudden a scoring game rather than a scramble. Hopefully will have the driver a bit more squared up by the summer.

cheers!

Hi Charlie,

the mini-tour guy is in his early 20s. Any other day out there he shoots a handful under par, but this day I think something got in his head.
I don't often register 9-hole rounds towards the handicap unless I go back out later that day and play the back 9, then score it as 18.
My favorite club right now is the PW. It's usually the putter, but I'm in between putters at the moment so feel most at home with the Pitching Wedge.

Thank you for the comment!

Dan,

I've been reading your blog with great interest from the UK and I've found your courage, determination and tenacity to succeed in your quest to be a real inspiration. So first of all, keep up the great work and the the great blog!

Like others have said, I really enjoyed your hole-by-hole analysis of your recent round and, as a keen golfer, I felt it brought things more to life for me as I could picture the sort of shots you were facing/attempting. So more of this format please!

Shame your putter was cold but did you feel you were putting well in terms of execution but just not getting the reward? If so, there's nothing you can do about such occasions other than to suck it up and chalk it down to experience. It happens to the very best. Given your focus on putting at the start of your journey, I'm hoping this was the case rather than some technical issue. I'd b interested in your thoughts on this.

Keep up the good work and keep on keeping us both enthralled and entertained.

I'm also quite surprised that guy playing trying to make it on a mini tour shot an 83. That's worse than bad.A couple over par would be bad 11 over!? bet he was drinking after the round.

Anyway yea that breaking 80 things seems like a curse at first, I've ended up in situation where I started to wonder how bad I'd have to screw up to not break 80 (3 over with 3 holes to play once and lost my second shot in two inch grass on 16, took stroke and distance, hit a tree etc.. I needed 5 over in 3 holes and that's what I got.
