Luke,

That's an ambitious project to go from 2 to plus 4, how's it coming along and do you have monthly goals or quarterly or just one big one?

Thanks!

Hello Charlie,

Thanks for the congrats!

I have thought about having a comment place for the videos, just not sure how to do that... As far as your question goes, you have touched on one of the hardest aspects of this journey to date. What to do this week... There's rarely a clear picture of exactly what needs the most work and what needs to be tops on the list for the week, but there is almost always a handful of small aspects of the swing and putt that needs to be tweaked. What I do is break those down into pieces and focus on one at a time like in that video. For more major swing adjustments, I might focus on one single swing thought all day while on the range or course and then change directions and have a completely different thought the next day so as to really maximize my focus. For example, this week I have two goals from things that Scott over at Cartersville showed me. First off is to have a wider, yet shorter, backswing with scoring clubs (actually any iron up to about a 4) and the second aspect is to keep my head behind the ball through impact. I knew these things needed a lot of work because they are pretty different than what I have been doing, so I only thought about and worked on the backswing today. Tomorrow my only goal is to work on my head position through the swing. Once both of these are more built into my swing, probably a week or so from now, I will shoot some video of my swing and break it down into a couple more aspect that need adjusting and repeat the process.

There's a lot more about smaller swing thoughts and goals that I'm not really touching on here, perhaps this is a whole blog...

Thanks!!

Hi Alan,

Thank you! For the record, I've been playing 18 for about a year, just not from the tees and not with more than a few clubs... I did swing a driver for the first time November 14, so in a way it has been less then three months. It's good for me to keep these things in perspective. Sometimes I think I'm a bit too hard on myself for not shooting par yet..

Cheers,
