Hi Howard,

Good advice! Thanks for that and for reading the blog. It is very true. Trying to get to that zen phase, still in the building zone, but it's getting a lot closer every day with every new challenge :)

Haha. Dan, "pressure" opens up a whole new world of situations to master. Pressure doesn't really exist. If you don't fear anything, pressure doesn't exist. In your case, you're not trying to prove anything. You're running an experiment. You're not SUPPOSED to be good. You are good or you are not good, depending on the day, how much sleep you got, etc.

Practice transfers skill from short-term memory to long-term subconscious memory. Choking happens when we lose connection to our long-term subconscious memory and start thinking. Thinking about golf shots turns the expert golfer into a beginner again.

Dance like nobody's watching.

Swing like nobody's watching.

In other words, lose the ego. (Another Zen concept.)

Ultimately, you have no control over when your skills transition from short-term memory to your subconscious. All you can do is your part -- practice -- and hope that the transfer happens. The transfer is natural. (Zen Masters would say that it's the Buddah's work.) Sometimes transfer happens fast, sometimes it takes months, years. You are on the path, and that's what matters.

I didn't meet that guy, but maybe one day.. The people who were out here from Golf in America were very cool, it was a good experience.

Definitely looking forward to seeing you on Golf in America. Did you get to meet Anthony Anderson?

I just found out about the Dan Plan a few days ago, but have gone through and started at the beginning of your blog and read it from then until now. You have an amazing story and I'm glad I found your site.

Don't let anyone get you down, haters gonna hate, you just keep plugging away.
