Thank you for the comment, Charlie.

I will definitely email you. But for the time being, I can say that I do indeed enjoy the game, although I have to stop and remind myself to enjoy it at times because I get so focussed on improving that I at times lose sight of the simple beauty that is golf. I have only been "playing" for a couple months now and look forward immensely to playing entire rounds as well as playing courses all over the world. In no way have I found golf enlightenment, but I am open to learning everything about the game over the next five years.

I'd be curious to know how much you enjoy the GAME at the moment. To what extent do you enjoy golf itself vs. the challenge of proving (or perhaps disproving) the 10,000-hour theory? What goes through your mind when you watch professionals on TV or good players in real life? What's the mixture of envy vs. inspiration?

I'm fascinated by your journey for a number of reasons (email me, if you're curious) but one of them is that I enjoy contemplating whether you'll end up understanding the game at a much deeper level than even the best players in the world - regardless of how good you become - or whether deep understanding will prove elusive for reasons that will be hard to pinpoint.

In any event, I wish you well. I wish you joy.
