Hello StatMan and Juan,

Sorry it has taken me a while to comment on your comments.. Thank you both! I really appreciate it and thanks for continuing to read along :)

Tournaments are great for getting true feedback, you can play practice rounds and practice all day, but it's how you hold up in competition that really matters. This was a great first experience and I will be searching out as many as possible down the line.

Hey Dan, Congrats on cashing in on your first tournament and your team finishing 3rd!!! Frame that gift certificate... while there will be many more, the first one is special!! And maybe they will allow you to "cash" it without turning it in!!

What I love about tournament golf it that it magnifies your weaknesses, so it immediately gives you feedback on where to focus your practice.

Your fan.. JUAN

Hello Dan:

Just happened to be online this Sunday morning, and saw your post from 10 minutes ago.

Way to go, and congrats on your first winnings!

It appears the temperature might have been in the 40's when you tee'd off, with all the fog? That's not an easy way to play, for sure. You know the golf balls aren't really made to perform well when it's below 50 degrees, not to mention, the golfer, too.

I'll have to go back through your posts to see why, but I'm a little curious as to why you still don't have a driver in your bag. The new technology leads to many drivers being very predictable. If not a driver, then a 5-wood or 3-wood. Back in the day, us high-high handicappers were told to never hit a driver, and should just use 5-wood. That has changed with the new technology, though. I understand you are going through a progression of clubs, but the driver is FUN to hit!

Nonetheless, great job handling your tournament nerves!
