You are doing great. I liked the CBS story.
I have also been a fan of the 10,000 hour rule for some time. This past winter I sat down and figured I have put in about 5,000 hours since I took up golf in my early 30s. I am now 50 and ended last season at a 7.3 Index. Over half that time was in a 5 year stretch when I cut 3 strokes a year off my index.

So, you having something like 2800 hours in and roughly, a high single digit handicap, I would say you are getting more return on your hours than I have. I think you are doing great. Keep it up.

I suppose the way they count shots also matters :) (as the saying goes a good scorer is worth two good players :)). The CBS story also mentioned you reached a level only 5% of golfer ever reach. And this in 2 years! Congrats on the journey so far and keep it up.
