Worst ball is the way to go, it really parallels the entire project’s fundamentals: work on your weaknesses. It’s the best way to pinpoint those areas.

Just watched your ‘three-ball’ webisode, Dan. It seems to encapsulate the difference between commitment (you) and optimism (us). We would use three balls and take the best one, you take the worst. Clearly, you’re learning more. Mind you, you’re probably cursing more as well…

Hi Drew,

The website doesn’t really bring in much money, it’s there for people to follow along, but I don’t have any ads or sponsors and the donations help but are basically enough to cover golf lessons and small costs. The majority of the funds are from my savings. I’m not sure how much capital you might need, we all have different expenses, but one thing I would suggest is that when you are saving for a project like this to always overestimate the amount of money you might need. Things tend to come up that were unforeseen expenses..

Hey there Dan,
I’m a huge fan, and I’m considering doing something similar. I was just wondering if your website brings you in enough money to support yourself? I’ve read your story. I know you bought Apple stock and had money saved up, but I’m wondering how much capital I’d need to do something like this? Of course every situation is different, and golf is certainly expensive, but I’m genuinely inspired by your story and I’d love to take the chance while I’m still young.
