Love the progress you're making. It's awesome to see. Probably a random question, but how did you enlist your swing coach when you first started?

Like someone else mentioned, impressive GIR rate. Watching the video of your putt on the 18th one thought comes to mind, have you tried looking at the hole when practising your putts? Seems odd, I know, but it's a technique recommended by Bob Rotella that I've found it to be really effective. And putting has always been the strongest part of my game. I'd kill for those GIRs!

Dan,

I'm very impressed with your progress so far. You are doing all the right things to be a scratch golfer and well on track to get where you need to be, score wise.

The most important thing you're doing that so many golfers struggle with is getting on the green consistently enough to give yourself chances for birdie. What could be a round of four over was instead a round of 1 over, because you gave yourself so many chances for birdie and made three on the front.

Combining improving your GIR with a short game that allows you to get up and down a solid majority of the time will give you the kind of game you need to be very competitive in tournaments and shoot the low scores necessary to qualify.

What I'm personally VERY interested in is your progress in dropping your personal best score down into the 60s. As you may know, playing in tournaments requires you to shoot extremely low rounds to qualify up front – and that means going really, really low sometimes.

As many birdie chances as you're giving yourself, I know it won't be long before you're able to touch the 60s from time to time, and look forward to your continued success with the Dan Plan.

Literally thousands of amateur golfers and dreamers are cheering you on.

Thanks Brian. Yeah, back in the day I shot in the mid-90s plenty of times on that course. Shooting par is shooting par. To relate it to other courses is why there is the rating system.
