Hi Dave,

Thanks for following along. I appreciate the comment too. Far too often I am beating myself up for having a couple of bad holes when I should really take a step back and think about where this all started just a year ago..

You'll be breaking 90 soon, keep it up!

Dan,
I've been following you for awhile now, waiting to see what your scores would be when you started playing from the white tees. It's crazy to think that you just started playing and are already talking about breaking 100 and breaking 90 like it's a routine thing for you. I've been playing since I was 10 (not very seriously for most of it), and I'm 27 now. I just broke 100 for the first time the other day after a two-year struggle. Needless to say I am very impressed with your progress and pretty jealous at the same time. Keep up the good work and let me know if you need a playing partner if you ever make your way to Boston.

Good luck,
Dave

Paul,

Thank you for all of the great comments and for reading the entire blog! I think it would be a good thing for me to do every six months or so to remember where I came from and remind myself not to get too frustrated because just a year ago I was way further down the hill than I am today. For me, feeling like I'm in control of my shots is still more important than the score (at this point at least). If I shoot a 95 but have good shot control with unfortunate outcomes it's much better in my mind than shooting a 90 on a wing and a prayer and sinking some extremely long putts or getting lucky chip-ins. Long story short, I want to be able to make the ball do what I want it to do and if you can do that the outcome will eventually be a good one regardless of how you performed that individual day.

Thanks again!

Hi Brice,

I haven't forgotten the book, promise! I have a couple on my shelf waiting to be read, but as soon as they are finished I'm on to The Inner Game of Bowling. Thanks for the suggestion!

Taylor,

I hear you, it's hard to take time off. If I ever have a bit of down time my first thought is to hit the links, but then I have to force myself to stay away a bit so I have time to process everything that I'm trying to learn. Six hours a day is good for me, there is always more to do, though..
