I really wonder if dry needling wasn't the missing piece here. I'm sure this journey could've used a massage gun along the way as well. Really tough to read these final posts of the blog, but what a journey it was. Like others, I wish the injury was navigated and blogged well, but it ultimately wasn't to be unfortunately.

You are on the recovery path and right on the button it begins with frustration then becomes maddening. You have gone from being a non golfer to one of the many who love the game. My shoulder injury last season took 6 months to heal including a two month lay off from playing the game. This cost me a tilt at playing in the Senior Tour qualifying rounds for 2015. This season I am regaining form and have to make up a lot of handicap strokes to get back to the qualifying mark.

That in itself is not a problem, even if I fail to reach the mark in time I will have still played and won more competitions. So failure will have benefits even if I fall short of the goal. For you it is simply a matter of offering best wishes and moral support. Golf is an individual game but golfers are a group united in the passion for the game.

I also am interested in your rehab plan..details of PT.and work with other specialists. Do you have a team that you work with? Looking back at the past, it's pretty important to be surrounded by teammates who are pushing you along ---maybe even pulling you along towards your goals. Keep us plugged in.

Dan, you are being given a gift of time to work on your putting!!! Stop hurting yourself by chipping, playing par 3 courses and on the regulation courses. Become the best putter in the world.

As you know, this is exactly what I did several years ago. I spent every minute on the putting green...while my back got rehabbed and I was able to take full swings.

Grab the book, "Make More Putts" that I sent you, put together practice plans and focus on getting this part of your game to the PGA Tour-Level.

Make everything... Your fan and friend. JUAN

Long time reader, just want to send along words of encouragement and support. It's obviously extremely frustrating to have your body betray you and I hope you are able to play without pain as soon as possible.

Also, I'm interested in your journey through recovery as much as I am in your progress and encourage you to write more about this part of your path! Injuries are as much a part of the Dan Plan as are new records and technologies.

any serious athlete must endure a serious injury at one point in their career. that injury must be significant enough to consider abandoning the sport altogether . only after recovering from that injury and returning and surpassing your previous level of achievement can you consider yourself a serious athlete. if you ask any athlete that has achieved any significant level of success they can describe a profound injury that made them consider abandoning the sport . you're lucky if happens only once.
