That's an interesting study, I'd love to read it as it is valid for golf too. Just yesterday a guy I played with showed me a swing weight that he uses to warm up which is essentially the same as the baseball donut. It Didnt feel right to use it.
It's hard to change people who are already as far as the big leagues, but with info like that it's possible to bring up the next generation better. Dynamic stretching and no swing weights. Check.

I read a sports science journal that did a study on professional baseball players who swing weighted bats and donuts in the on deck circle (virtually all of them.) They found that by swinging the heavier bats it slowed down their actually swing speed and they would be better off swinging something significantly lighter, such as a golf shaft. Even with this new found knowledge practically all players still swing the weighted bats. People don't like change, especially when it comes to something as traditional as baseball.

I also stretch dynamically before I golf or any other sport. I laugh when I see people static stretch before sports. I also swing a shaft before teeing off and never multiple clubs or weighted club. I read that it actually makes for worse contact and slower club head speed

I stretch dynamically before golf and statically after golf, and to this day, I have never seen another golfer stretch dynamically. I think I've seen maybe one or two stretch by their cars afterwards too. It's rare to see someone take care of themselves like this. Good to know there's another guy out there doing this too now haha.

Dan,

I would also try and use a foam roller via this article in Golf Digest:
