I enjoyed the story and the perseverance. There were never any guarantees of course, but it is amazing to see what happens just when one works towards a goal. Now reading at a distance the sense is that injuries overwhelmed progress and ultimately caused the experiment to fizzle out.

The slight let down for anyone who followed the story was that it ended as a damp squib with no communication or endnote to say so. Perfectly legitimate for Dan to say that the experiment had come to the end of the road, hitting a wall physically, or that with injuries, other life goals to be set.

To leave the blog untouched since 2015 would lead a new reader to think there was ultimately a lack of true commitment and that would be unfair to both the reader and to Dan. Please give a post-script even though it may be tough.

I can only ditto the last few posts and wish Dan all the best. I was an avid follower, and i simply lost sight of the project because i had relied on being notified for updates, only to check again now after months. It must be hard to consider writing a final post, but it doesn't have to be final, as others have said, a small non-committal update on your tentative decisions would be great!

I would suspect that this project is now over. Shame that there was no real good-bye as such but it must be a tough thing to have put so much effort into something only to have injury take it away from you. No embarrassment though Dan - your journey was extremely interesting to read about. Many thanks and hope your future endeavors are successful.
