Golf... famously frustrating as your old coach used to say. That inexplicable thing that happened to you where you just weren't playing well, the inability to do something that you were able to do just fine not that long ago that's golf.

Even with practice and pressure, you'll find that you might be able to hit your 6 iron 180 to a green over and over dozens of times repeatedly over several weeks/months/years and you will feel like you have that well understood. Then you will go out one day and will hook, slice and block the crap out of it.

Those intangibles to quickly figure out what you are doing wrong *by feel, subconsciously making the right adjustments and having a uncanny ability to keep doing the right things while not picking up the 'wrong things' are what everyone is talking about when they say things like talent.

Not sure Michael, but it's a good question and something that needs to be addressed. I see all of these experiences as learning ones and hope that by falling under pressure today (while gaining experience and comfort through them) I am learning what it means to play under pressure. One day and one event at a time. It will come, just have to stick with it and put in the hours.

Great last quote Dan. It's that positive attitude that will get you where you want to be. Like the line from my favorite movie "Gattaca" " I never left anything for the swim back."

The greenback is not a difficult course Dan, why do you think you are continuing to struggle when any amount of pressure is put upon you?

Dan, if nothing else you're a glass half full kind of guy! Finding the positives in a shamble are fine but Dan were not just trying to be a good golf, you're trying to be an elite golfer. After years of practice you are still shooting +8 and +6 on the front nine of the GREENBACK!!! Dan, you and I know this is truly one of the easiest courses in Portland... All the loyal followers will congratulate you on your fine contribution to 9 holes of the shamble, all of those who know anything about golf will continue to be amazed by your continual lack of good play whenever it counts.
