Hey buddy sorry to hear about CECC. Hopefully everything will work out and your membership will be reinstated. If not I'm sure another club would welcome you with open arms and as you said this is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of all the great public courses Portland has to offer. Keep your head up and keep grinding away at the new move your working on, it most definately looks as though you're heading in the right direction.

The only constant is change... if there's one thing about "Country Club" types is that if they feel like you're devaluing their own experience or if your presence makes them feel uncomfortable in any way, then you're out regardless of what the reality is. It doesn't surprise me that they feel as though they less because you're using the facilities more when that simply isn't the case. I'd love to get a round in with you sometime this summer when I'm down from Seattle. Continued success to you, Dan!

I know the benefit of country club conditions and cecc has an all world practice facility, make no mistake this would be a HUGE step downwards as far as course condition, quality of practice, and general pace of play. I hope you return to cecc, ideas: start an online petition (I would sign), have their webmaster track page views pre DP and see if you generated more interest, site number of times cecc has been mentioned in national stories, articles, etc.. hoping for the best not sure if the dp will survive a at heron

anyone can use the chipping/putting area at municipal courses for free, they are public parks and do not charge admission (at least in Portland, I don't know about the rest of the world). I practiced at Heron Lakes for the first entire year of The Dan Plan. They have deals with range balls and you can purchase a multiplay rewards card and get rounds for $18.75. I will be paying my own way at any public course or when I play guest rounds at private courses. Golf isn't cheap and I have accounted for this cost. Don't worry Samy, all is well.

is the danplan now taking public assistance from Portland taxpayers? Or are you paying your own way at Heron? If you are having to pay this seems like a major hurdle, given finances were tough to begin with and the golf/practice was FREE??? please elaborate on the financial aspect of the DP should you not get re-admitted to the club.
