I wouldn't argue with that, whenever you don't get a good night sleep, it really affects how much you can train and how good your concentration is. Sometimes it seems like you are indulging a bit much, but 8 hours is basically a requirement for anyone in training. I'm not a very good sleeper, something that I have actually been working on, but I've never managed to get more than about 7. Perhaps it's what I need, but on those rare nights where I can actually pull off 8, I feel that much better. Thanks for sharing!

Regarding waking up and not wanting to get out of bed, you might find this graphic on how much top athletes sleep interesting (Tiger Woods apparently being the exception).

Hi Brad, I'll assume you meant Dan, unless there's a John on here too :)
I hit the gym 5-6 days a week, and those hours are not included in the 36 golf hours a week. However necessary it might be to build strength, it doesn't directly make you a better golfer, so is not included in deliberate practice. Neither is reading about golf, watching swing videos, etc. The time is solely time spent working with clubs and golf balls. Thanks for the comment!

Hello John. What's a typical day/week of practice like now that you've moved 300+ from the hole? Also do you have a work out routine and does that count towards your 36 "golf" hours a week? Stay the course and best of luck to your future milestones.

Thank you John from China. It is sad to hear that you are going to become something that you do not enjoy, but perhaps once you start working in that field you will find it fulfilling. Perhaps. Life is a long pursuit, so after you obtain your degree as an engineer (if that's the direction you end up going) there will always be other opportunities to pursue a career in the movie industry! Plan well, then follow your dreams :)

Hi John. Unfortunately I don't have a handicap quite yet because we are working away from the hole. I started putting 1 foot from the hole and once I became efficient enough from that distance moved to 3 feet, then 5, then 10, etc. I am currently "playing" from 100 yards and hope to move back to about 130 soon. So, no official handicap yet, but am learning to score. Thanks!
