I am headed to Hilton Head from October 15 – 21 for the Golfweek Amateur Tour National Championship. I believe there are about 700 – 800 people in the field across the 5 flights, so be aware that some courses will be very busy or completely unavailable during the 3 days of the tournament (10/18 – 10/20) including the Ocean Course at Sea Pines, the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Dunes and the Robert Trent Jones course.

I’d also recommend Harbour Town. I’ll be playing it on the 17th for the first time. Currently I have a group of 3 for our tee time, so you’d be more than welcome to join us as our 4th if you’re interested.

Feel free to contact me if you’d like any more details on the Golfweek Amateur Tour or on playing Harbour Town. Hilton Head is full of courses though so you won’t have a problem finding a tee time somewhere.

I, personally, have never been there but a friend of mine has been. He strongly recommends Harbor Town as would I since it’s a tour stop and considered one of the most demanding stops as far as accuracy. It’s supposed to be a very tight course. I’m a little jealous, Dan. Have fun!

It is fun to occasionally play in the rain. My rain suit doesn’t get much use but when called upon, it is a real lifesaver. That and my Foot Joy rain gloves.
