Click on the map for a short description of courses played to date

Ratings: scales are from 1-10 with 10 being ideal and a 1 meaning stay away.

Experience rating: The overall aesthetic of a course (prettiness), walkability, ambiance (noise pollution) and feel that comes with playing 18 holes. Also variety of holes and challenge.

DanPlan rating: The quality of the practice facilities. Perfect 10 would have a year-round grass range, at least two putting greens with different breaks, chipping green, bunker practice, pitching area at least 120 yards long for wedges, a par 3 course and a large variety of golf club brands to try out on a ball flight monitor.

Greetings from Ireland, wow amazing to watch what you are doing in my eyes living the dream ….Some top courses over here and its been known to be a bit windy the odd time which is a real tester for your game, if you decide to get over to Ireland at any stage we would very much welcome you at Baltinglass Golf Club Co.Wicklow!! Hey Dan,

I often go and practice and play at Meriweather National Golf Club out in Hillsboro (since I am out that way). Has 27 holes, a par 3 short course, driving range with grass available, bunkers for practice, chipping greens and putting green. I find it nice and peaceful to play at as it’s a bit out there but there isn’t as much traffic either

Hey Dan,
I remember chatting with you some time in 2009 when the Dan Plan was but a concept. I was going the opposite route, from touring pro to grad school. I suppose I was a little less direct than Feherty, while thinking the same thing Pretty impressive you are down to a 3 hdcp, and looks like you’re having quite the journey! If you’re ever up in Seattle and want to add another course to the list, I’d love to get a round in with you. Although I haven’t logged an hour since August myself, I can still scrape it around alright.

As a teacher who has recently taken up golf, I’m totally inspired by you! I’m constantly battling to get children and adults alike to have the belief and resilience to go and achieve more than they otherwise would with less effort, and I’d love to spend 10,000 hours of deliberate practice trying to improve my game! Great that the quality of your practice and coaching is of a high standard too; after all practice makes permanent, not necessarily perfect!

Hi Dan, if you ever find yourself at the real home of golf “Scotland” I would love to tee up with you. Honestly you cant call yourself a golfer if you have never been to Scotland lol, and particularly at Turnberry having a bit of “duel in the sun”

Hey Dan!

I came across your Vimeo and this site a couple months ago. As someone at ripe age of 30 and just getting into golf myself you’ve definitely had an impact on my thinking of what’s possible if I commit myself. It’d be great to play a round and pick your mind if you’re ever in the Sacramento, CA area.
