Day one

The first day of The Dan Plan was a success in my book.  Morgan (impromptu camera man/roommate) and I went out to the course this morning, talked with a man there at the pro-shop who said there shouldn’t be a problem with us spending quite a bit of time in the coming future using their putting green.  We then headed out to putt around for a couple hours.  The weather was much colder than it ever should be in Oregon in April, but I think that was a good sign.  Things are only going to get warmer and smoother from here on out (until next winter, but lets worry about that when it happens..).

I also went and had a physical evaluation from the strength trainer Donn over at the Kor.  Basically, I have a lot of work to do with all of that.  As nice as he was trying to be throughout the test, I kind of thought it was a bad sign when he would laugh after asking me to resist forces he was applying.  Perhaps it’s a nervous habit of his to laugh at clients, although that seems a little counterproductive as far as business goes.  But, hey, nowhere better to start than the bottom, right? The ultimate tabula rasa.

So day one with golf and day one with strength training has been officially recorded.  I keep telling myself:  “All I have to do now is get good.  Simple.”

Going to try and get some sleep.  Since the plan is on a minor hiatus until Christopher gets back in town and the clubs we order arrive, I am going to go back into A-DEC for a couple days.  Dan Plan is having an impromptu vacation after one day of taking it easy.  It’s a good life.
