900 and holding

It's not the amount of snow, but the temperature that has the courses closed

After a weather shortened day yesterday left me at exactly 900 training hours, today’s below-freezing temperatures have all of the courses around town closed.  And, it looks like tomorrow is going to be colder and so perhaps closed again.  Not too big of a deal in any way, but I had a personal goal of getting to 1,000 hours by the time Christmas rolled around so I could fly to Atlanta and enjoy a few days off knowing there is a nice even number behind me, 10 percent!

Whether or not I make it to 10 percent by the end of this year, I will still count it a success.  A bit of a slower pace than I had first envisioned, but still a tireless effort, if I must say so myself!

I am a bit bummed that I can’t get out there today, though.  Hopefully when I see Christopher this weekend he will have an astroturf pad and a net for me so that on days like today I can set up a little swing room in my garage, but for the time being I will just sit tight and work on editing some of the video that we have shot over the past 7 months.

Times like this it would be great to be training in the desert somewhere, but at least I don’t live in North Dakota!  Portland will do just fine.
