Another lesson; another step towards the goal!

Met with CS out at Pumpkin and talked about, among numerous things, my wanting to do a bootcamp next week, a timeline for obtaining a chipping wedge and how to change things up to keep from getting dulled out by my daily routine.

The questions about a bootcamp and keeping my routine fresh had a similar answer.  We decided it was best to change all of my individual games (of which there are about 15) into one longer circuit exercise.  Basically, instead of focussing on 5 footers for an hour, 3 footers for an hour, ten footer…  etc.  I will rotate through all 15 games by doing 20-25 minutes of one and then switching another.  This way, it keeps things a bit more random to emulate the game itself a tiny bit more as well as allow me to not get bogged down by one specific game.

As far as a chipper goes, looks like it will be a few more weeks before we really dive into that one.  Long story short, he wants me to be much better at my putting game before we enter the world of actually lofting the ball because of the learning curve that I will encounter when moving from putting to hitting.  He wants to have a good week of lessons where we can go over everything that I will need to learn in order to swing a club, but for the time being, just try and become the best putter I can be.  I guess it was pushing it a bit to think that I would be ready to get another club after just 7 weeks of putting…  I am excited about moving along in The Plan, though!

I got the go-ahead to pick out some more Nike gear today.  I am going to check out the website tonight and pick out a few shirts, pants, raingear, etc.  It will be nice to have some breathable clothes once the summer heat sets in!

Only other news is that I now have a 30′ and 40′ game added to my repertoire.  On my first try, I got 27 out of 44 of the 40 footers hit within a 3-foot circle, or about 60 percent.  CS wants me to get to about 95 percent of those.  I got a lot of work to do, good thing I have all next week to bootcamp it!  Hopefully I can get in about 10 hours of good training a day, but only time will tell.
