easy sundays

I am supposed to take it easy on Sunday.  It is the “recovery” day of the week and the plan is to lay low and let my body build back muscles from the week’s workouts and to solidify my possibly sore back.

so..  I of course overdid it a bit and am now finally sitting down after a busy day of digging holes in the yard and jogging.  I will just have to wait and see how I feel tomorrow, but if being this active on the weekend hinders my training, I’ll have to cut it back.  It did feel pretty good to get a bunch of plants in the ground now that spring is here, though..

On another note.  I went and met with Darren Painter on Friday at the Synergy Training Center in Lake Oswego.  He is a Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist and offers a year-long program aimed at increasing your ability to focus and mental performance, among other things.  I was a bit skeptical of the process at first, but after meeting with him and talking about the program (and talking to others who know Darren and people who have done his program) I’ve decided to go for it.  He works with a lot of athletes and if his program can help me retain everything I am trying to learn, then I’m all for it.  I can use every bit of help I can get, this is quite the uphill journey I have just begun..

We start this Wednesday.  Not sure exactly what we will be doing, but will definitely blog about it as it happens.

Off to eat some dinner and then try and actually rest for the few hours left in Sunday.  I’m excited to start week three tomorrow!  Looking at my progress last week was encouraging.  Although slight, I could see that I was really improving every day.  If you want to see my daily percentages, click on the stopwatch at the top of the page..
