On The Radio Tomorrow and Other News

There are a couple of Dan Plan updates that I have been meaning to blog about.

First off, I am going to be on 710 ESPN Seattle tomorrow around 9:30am Pacific time. You can stream the station here: http://mynorthwest.com/?nid=5
I will be a regular guest on that show appearing every other Sunday starting tomorrow.

One advantage he’s got William is that he is being economical with the stopwatch.
He mentioned somewhere he’s at the course for about 8 hours a day but only counting 4-5.
At one end of the spectrum, the time should be from when he leaves home until he returns.
At the other, one could argue that only the time from beginning to end of each swing counts. Ie he could stretch the 10000 hours to 15 years if he wanted to.
If it is going to be considered genuine research or the results to be taken seriously it needs someone other than Dan himself starting and stopping the stopwatch.
My guess, as cynical as it sounds, is that this period is where he is gaining notoriety and maybe pulling an income and hence is conveniently going to be the slowest in terms of ticking over the hours.
When he gets to 8000 and is scratch (not +5 where he needs to be) then everyone will lose interest.
Therefore now, while there is still a glimmer of hope, is his time and hence he needs to prolong it as long as possible

Dan,
You talked up the Trackman like it was a great training tool but you haven;t used it in a very long time. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for such an expensive piece of equipment.
Why haven;t you used the tool more often?

I use the TrackMan quite a bit and am in the middle of a data collection period where I am working with K Anders Ericsson to gather numbers and figure out what to focus on in the immediate future. I will post this as soon as the base level is collected and once I know what the next steps are.
It is a wonderful machine and the best way to understand where your swing is. I can assure you I use it quite a bit. Once it makes sense to post the stats they will be posted. Please have patience.

As much as I like golfwrx, I think this may be a bad choice for your development. The number of people on there that will attempt to tear you down will be enormous. I am pulling for you, but I don’t feel like that was a good decision.
