Thank you

I appreciate all of the feedback from the question that was posted a couple of days ago. I went with the popular choice and picked up this 60 degree wedge yesterday. It has already been useful on a few occasions and produced solid results

For the first time I have 14 clubs in the bag. Sometimes I enjoy playing with just the odd or even irons, but when I want to bring them all I now have a full set to utilize.

Heading to Chicago next Tuesday to present at Chicago Ideas Week on October 10 at 4:30 pm. The talk is at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Please stop by and check it out for all of you that live in the area.

Also, I am participating in a conference call with my production partner and a couple of creatives about what the future is for The Dan Plan episodes. We had the same format for the past year and are taking a hiatus to decide what direction they should go next. Any thoughts on what would be interesting as well as tell the story?

Personally I like the Dan Plan episodes fine just like they are. Maybe you could throw in a special once in a month where you focus on something specific like what you do in your off time, reactions to the Dan Plan, the 10k hours theory, golf documentary-like stuff (i’m happy to know just some of the golf terms like Par, Birdie and Fairway from Wii Golf and the likes :D) for golf newbies etc. In the mean time, showing what you’re focusing on each week, tournament reports and friendly games are great for the previous episodes so far!

Oh and congratulations on your talk, not the first one, right? You have made quite a name to yourself =)

I’m not sure if this is feasible, however, I think it would be fun to watch your tournaments in some type of Dan Plan episodes. Especially if we didn’t know how you performed in the tournament. I realize it would be a longer format type episode, but I would give you more experience playing with cameras on you.

I agree, I liked the episodes just fine. I’m sure whatever you guys come up with will be good though. I’ve mentioned it before, the only thing I think you should do is do more videos or maybe just make the 1 video per week longer.

as far as the videos… I liked watching the coaching sessions. It gave us an idea of what you were working on improving. I guess maybe even if you are not doing a coaching session video you could take a few minutes to talk about what you are trying to master that week, even though the majority of the video might be about some tournament or something else.

Another thing that would be interesting to see is if you have stats on how many hours were spent on each area of the game. maybe make a page(spreadsheet format) that says hey this week i spent this many hours on X… and in total since the beginning that makes it XX.

Saw you last night. Good luck with all that you do. Not sure if sitting next to Natalie Coughlin was part of the plan, but I guess that would be added value. Couple of thoughts for you to keep in mind as you start getting into competition. There is golf,and there is tournament golf. Tournament golf is fast paced and will take you up a notch in terms of focus. It is where the process and planning is essential. Good luck. As for the wedges, these are scoring clubs and you will need to figure out specifically what lies and lofts work for you. Anything around the green should be considered “score-able” so no different than the importance of a putter, wedges are actually more important as you will miss more greens than hitting them.

I missed out on the advice giving part, but it would have been the 60* wedge more than likely. I have a Vokey Raw that I use quite frequently, and I love it. There is one hole on my local course where I have a bad tendency to put my tee shot directly in front of a tree about 30 to 40 feet tall with the green immediately behind it. A good blast w/ that wedge gets me on at least 70% of the time. Excellent choice!
