The groove has left the building (for today).

Just cannot seem to find my groove.

I got out to Heron Lakes early, around 7:30, but it was pouring down rain, so I laid low for a bit and then braved the weather to get some practice in.  after getting drenched for a little while (good news is that my new raincoat works), the rain actually let up and I got in four hours total in the morning, but I feel like I am actually getting worse day by day.  Not sure why, but my energy and focus have been really down for about a week now too; think I need to get back on a good schedule for sleeping and eating and just plod through this tough time.  For the meantime, though, it’s hard to tell if and why I am actually regressing on my past progresses.  Seemed for the first 5 weeks that I could tell I was improving on a daily level, but now it’s a little harder to tell and in some ways it feels like I’m getting less comfortable behind the ball.  But, I know that it’s just the first (of probably numerous) plateaus I will encounter over the next four years, so I’m not too worried about it, but still, it’s frustrating to practice for five or six hours a day when you feel like the practice is actually making you worse..

Went to the Synergy Training Center to see Darren too, and that was a bit of a difficult meeting due to my energy level and frustrations with my putting skills.  I basically ran out of steam while I was down there and just couldn’t seem to find the drive to do his exercises well, so now I have to redo the week, basically, and prove I can balance next week before moving on, but it’s getting harder and harder to want to do the exercises because it is starting to feel like I do the same thing every day and there’s only so long that one can keep that up with fervor before the lack-of-diversity blues take over..  Although, I know it’s important for me to master the tasks that he assigns before moving onward, so it’s time to muster up the energy and do what I need to do in order to get to where I want and need to be.  I need to get a kickstart to my workouts too..

Sorry to blog-complain, but I guess it’s best to get the bad out as well as the good!

Tomorrow will be a better day, for sure.
